Cedric’s life has been an offering (Romans 12:1) deeply rooted in faith. Faced with the inevitable choice within the church community — to sing or preach — he chose both. His talent blossomed, leading him to record and travel with the group Damascus. However, responding to the guiding of the Holy Spirit, Cedric embarked on a solo career marked by milestones.
Cedric Ballard has shared the stage with many of gospel’s greatest legends and some R&B royalty such as Albertina Walker, Kirk Franklin, The Clark Sisters, Beyoncé Knowles, Kurt Carr, V. Michael McKay, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin and many more. His performance at President Obama’s Chicago church was matched with praise to God and a rousing ovation for the gift.
As Cedric looks back on his remarkable journey, he echoes the sentiment of the hymn writer, affirming that he’s emerged through “many dangers, toils, and snares” by God’s grace. With an unyielding spirit and an acceptance of the divine assignment, Cedric Ballard stands ready for the next chapter, committed to using music as a vessel to inspire, uplift, and illuminate the path of faith for all who listen.
