Israel & New Breed Receives Eighth GRAMMY Nomination – TCB – Israel & New Breed

Gospel music artist Israel Houghton with Israel & New Breed has been nominated for his eighth GRAMMY® Award. This time for his groundbreaking Latin Worship album Coritos Vol. 1 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.

The Recording Academy has officially released the full list of nominees for the 2026 GRAMMYS, marking the start of this year’s GRAMMY season and setting the stage for Music’s Biggest Night.

This historic nomination stands as the first time a Spanish-language album has been recognized in this category, representing a significant milestone for the Latin Christian genre and its growing influence across the globe.

“Every time our name has been called we’ve been shocked, amazed, and grateful. Today is something completely different. In the face of upheaval in our nation, I find it wildly poetic that God would use something like this project to be the first ever Spanish language record in this category. To Him be the Glory”, Israel shares.

Further amplifying this achievement, the album’s additional Latin GRAMMY® nomination showcases Coritos Vol. 1 as a bridge between musical traditions and a testament to the universal language of music.

“I am grateful for the culture that raised me and my wife. Grateful that our child will always have this music in his story and his life,” the artist adds.

Coritos Vol. 1 reflects a beautiful sense of collaboration and unity with artists from the US, Puerto Rico, Mexico, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Ecuador. The project highlights the shared passion of every participant, including Aaron Moses, Nate Diaz, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, Lucia Parker, Miel San Marcos, Marcos Witt, Evan Craft, Unified Sound, Janina Rosado, Freddy Bailon, Claudette Bailon, Juan De La Cruz, and Coalo Zamorano.

“So many people have made this record stand up and out. Our entire team of amazing guests, producers, engineers, singers, artists, musicians, videographers, social media, and volunteers coming together with a passion to create something bigger than us. This is truly that. And we are so thankful to be considered for this amazing honor among my friends and fellow good-news-givers”.

The 2026 GRAMMYS will take place on Sunday, February 1, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, broadcasting live on the CBS Television Network and streaming live and on demand on Paramount+. Watch highlights and exclusive GRAMMYS content from the 2026 GRAMMYS all year long onlive.GRAMMY.com.
