Today, GVTH DVDDY released new single, “Who Knows How It Ends?” GVTH DVDDY channels Kevin Robinson and Jake Endicott’s sonic catharsis through angular guitar, lush synths, driving rhythms and contemplative vocals: the post-rock sound of ungrounded goth.

The Portland, OR duo’s second album GVDV features 10 conversations picking up where their self titled debut left off – but now a full force live band. The recordings have a raw and urgent feel about them with most takes being full live performances.

Starflyer 59 surprised us with a new track on 5/9 called ‘I’m Disappointed’

The long-running SoCal band Starflyer 59 is as well known for its first three monochromatic “shoegaze” records as they are for their piano ballads, pop songs, and thoughtful albums recorded in mono. Constantly shapeshifting and blending genres, today (5/9) the band has surprised fans with a new track, “I’m Disappointed,” and the announcement of a new EP to be released on July 31st.

“I’m Disappointed” finds the band stretching musically into new territory, dare we even say it has early punk leanings. With a high BPM, and an obvious nod to the Ramones, Starflyer 59 has again made things fresh and new. Vocally and lyrically, frontman Jason Martin keeps things low key, grounded, and melancholy in the usual vibe of SF59.

With the new EP in the can, the band is currently working on its next full-length record, which will assuredly offer more new sounds for their fan base to soak up. Martin states that, “While there is nothing new under the sun, it’s also no fun to keep repeating the same things.”
