Chris Tomlin Reimagines His Biggest Songs on New Lo-Fi Album
Chris Tomlin created an album that sounds a little different from what we’re used to hearing from him. He just released a new album called Still Waters: A Lo-Fi Collection, and he took some of his familiar worship songs and gave them a completely different sound.
If you’ve never heard of lo-fi, it’s basically that really laid-back, mostly instrumental kind of music you might hear playing while you’re studying, working, reading, or just relaxing. And Chris says that’s exactly the kind of atmosphere he wanted to create with this album.
You’ll hear songs from different points throughout his career, including “How Great Is Our God,” “Our God,” “Indescribable,” and “Holy Forever.” But instead of the big worship production you’re used to hearing from Chris, these versions are much softer and more relaxed.
Chris says this project was very intentional and he wanted it to be something people could enjoy in all kinds of everyday moments.
