Following in the footsteps of iconic renditions from Christian music luminaries like Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant, Hannah Kerr puts her distinct stamp on the poignant Christmas classic as she retells the birth of Christ with the quiet earnestness the reverent ballad requires. Her signature alto imbues the track with warmth as lush strings provide a bright, peaceful arrangement. A recent first-time mom herself, Kerr’s recording of “Welcome To Our World” is made all the sweeter as she experiences the upcoming holiday season through the eyes of her one-year-old son. Kerr’s rendering of the Chris Rice-penned selection was produced by Carter Frodge.
Motherhood and life’s ordinary moments are currently inspiring Kerr’s most recent music, which she’s been teasing across her social platforms this year. In addition to working on new material, Kerr is the host of “In The Middle Of It” podcast. Now in its second season, the popular series has recently welcomed special guests Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman; Tenth Avenue North’s Mike Donehey and his wife, Kelly; country recording artist Granger Smith and rising CCM stars Cade Thompson and Natalie Layne, among others.
