So now anyone who is in Christ Jesus is not judged guilty. That is because in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit that brings life made you free. It made you free from the law that brings sin and death. – Romans 8:1-2 (ERV)
Do you like it when people judge you? Maybe they judge you based on the clothes you wear or the music you listen to. Maybe the friends you hang out with cause people to judge you a certain way. Regardless of how others judge you, what is really important is how God sees you.
Today’s Bible verse tells us that Jesus Christ has judged us not guilty. We might have messed up, made bad choices, or failed in a major way. Regardless of circumstances or choices, in light of Jesus, you are judged not guilty.
What’s great about this fact is that it’s no longer about who you are, but about who Christ is in you. When you accept Jesus, your whole identity changes. You’re not a sinner, mess-up, failure, worthless or whatever else you might feel. No, you’re free from the sin and death of your old nature. You’ve been made new!
Take some time today to thank Jesus for making you new. Thank Him that because of Jesus you’ve been judged not guilty.
