#115 – Elevation Rhythm

Elevation Rhythm is an upbeat worship band from the youth ministry at Elevation Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. Hailing from the same home church as Elevation Worship, the youth band exists to inspire hope and spread love among the upcoming generation. They strive to provide encounters with the presence of the Lord to youth and young adults through their music.

They have released music for almost four years and recently dropped their newest record, This Is the Gospel. The album is a captivating adventure that stays true to its unique style, all while exalting the name of the Lord. The project features several exciting collaborations with other talented artists. Here’s a look at two of the album’s songs.

“You Will Be Saved”

“Come as you are
Just as you are, it’s time to come home
Out of the dark
There’s no need to hide, He already sees you.”

You’re perfect just the way you are. It’s a fact we long to believe, but the one Satan chooses to tear down every day. It doesn’t get any easier as I get older because, if anything, the doubt compounds. But God fights for us to push past the enemy’s attacks.

I can’t even see the right side up when I’m stricken and torn down by the lies. Nevertheless, I know He is heaven, so I know who I run to for the truth. Worship band Elevation Rhythm uniquely presents this message with powerful lyrics, reminding listeners God loves us, “no strings attached.” The incredible thing about our Heavenly Father is that He always reminds me that I am loved. The same goes for you, so I want you to say it over yourself until you believe it: I am loved. Beyond that, there is hope even if you haven’t yet accepted Jesus as your savior. He is ready and waiting, “Just receive Him in your heart, and you will be saved.” Keep going because I assure you that God isn’t done with you yet. You are loved, and you will be saved.

“This Is the Gospel (feat. Joe L Barnes)”

This week has indeed been a learning experience for me. To put it bluntly, I realized how easy it is to lose faith. We often start enthusiastically but gradually lose our spark and watch from the sidelines. This lack of dedication has crippled me through rapid burnout and ideas quickly exhausted. It gets especially problematic when I’m expected to follow God all the days of my life. But that’s the thing. The burden isn’t on us to continually renew the strength to live for Him. Once we surrender, He promises to uphold us with His almighty strength for the rest of eternity.

In this melody, featured vocalist Joe L Barnes sings, “Since our existence, there’s only been one mission/for You to commune with us.” It’s a powerful and straightforward message. Whenever I attempt to handle things independently, I become overwhelmed much more quickly than anticipated. So, I’m grateful that my God doesn’t give up nearly as easily as I do. In fact, He doesn’t give up at all. “This is the Gospel, this is the good news,” indeed. He will never stop providing you with strength. He believes, as do I, that you are an overcomer. Hallelujah that we get to celebrate His guiding hand over all of this always.
