NASHVILLE, TN (September 15, 2026) – Leanette Lopez has released “I Find Rest” to Christian radio. Written by Lopez and her daughter, Kristen Judd, and produced by Jerroll Lehman and Jonathon Rangel, the Inspirational and Christian Soft AC song draws from Psalm 23 and the assurance of finding rest in God through every season of life.
Lopez and Judd wrote “I Find Rest” as their interpretation of Psalm 23, reflecting its imagery of a Shepherd who leads, restores, comforts, and remains present even through life’s darkest valleys. That message became deeply personal while the song was being recorded, when Lopez’s father, a minister who had been in remission for seven years, became ill again.
Before his passing, Lopez’s father had contributed to the song throughout its development. He also asked his daughter and granddaughter to sing “I Find Rest” at his funeral. What began as a song about the promises of Psalm 23 took on an even deeper meaning for the family as they experienced grief while holding to the hope and comfort of God’s care.
The song opens in the “valley of a broken heart,” connecting personal sorrow with the familiar valley imagery of Psalm 23. From there, the lyrics move toward the security of God’s presence and the peace found in surrender. The recurring declaration, “You know best” and “I find rest,” becomes the heart of the song’s message.
For Lopez, that message reflects a ministry spanning more than 30 years. An author of five books with a catalog of 50 original songs, she has devoted her ministry to sharing the hope of Jesus Christ through music and preaching. She holds degrees from Global University and Ashworth College, bringing her study of Scripture and human behavior into music intended to minister to both the heart and soul.
With “I Find Rest,” Lopez offers Christian radio listeners a deeply personal reminder of the truth she and her family experienced firsthand: even in seasons of loss and uncertainty, God’s presence remains, His care can be trusted, and His people can find rest in Him.
