Live At Ocean Way: A Chat with AOH Music

AN NRT EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW, Live At Ocean Way: A Chat with AOH Music

The AOH Music band comprises three members from New Jersey: Brianne Nealon, Jack Garno, and Jimmy Meier. They have performed at several faith-based events on the East and West coasts for the past four years, using their music to spread the message of God. I spoke with the band about their music and Live At Ocean Way EP.

What are you passionate about your listeners hearing through your music?
We’re passionate about our audience hearing the call to joyful discipleship through our music. Christ commissioned His flock to, as Matthew 28:19 puts it, “Go and make disciples of all nations.” We pray our listeners are encouraged in their own journeys of discipleship and experience the incredible effects of faith, hope, joy, and love through the music we have offered to the Lord.
What are the three of you bringing differently to AOH Music?
Each of us brings our unique gifts and talents to the band. Brianne offers her natural songwriting talent, powerful voice, zeal for the Gospel, and a fine-tuned ear for the voice of the Holy Spirit. Jimmy brings his excellence in audio engineering and percussion, valuable experience in the music and songwriting industry, and a powerful witness to his conversion to the Gospel. Jack provides his evolving taste in music production and arrangement, a multi-instrumental background, and a passion for seeing souls transformed by Christ through music.
Tell us about a few of your most recent singles from your new EP, Live At Ocean Way.
“Heal Our World” is the second single from our Live At Ocean Way EP resonating most with audiences. “Heal Our World” is a cry for Jesus to enter our hearts and minds and restore our brokenness. Out of His abyss of mercy and infinite love for us, Jesus came to bring salvation and healing to our world. As Christians, we’re called to humble ourselves enough to admit that we need mercy and a savior. Christ paid a debt He didn’t owe because we owed a debt we couldn’t pay. Our good shepherd stood in our place before the Father and, through His incarnation, bought for us an ever-flowing fountain of grace, peace, and healing. Lord Jesus, come and heal our world.
“Abba Father” is the EP’s first single (It’s an audience favorite to experience in concert). The song was written when our hearts needed a reminder of the immense power of God, our Father. By His Word alone, He created all things. This song is a reminder that God loved each of us into existence to join Him in glory. His love for us is so that He sent us His only son, Jesus Christ, to save and redeem us. We were meant to take on this world with others. This song reflects that regardless of our early relationships, we all have a father, Abba Father, whose love never fails.
What do you feel people need most as they encounter God through your music?
Through our personal experiences on our own spiritual journeys and interactions with our audiences, people seem to need one thing: Jesus. Psalm 23:1 reads, “The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.” Jesus is the divine physician who heals all. Jesus is the eternal love for which every heart longs and is made. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh, the truth that sets us free. Who wouldn’t want Jesus if they knew what he has to offer each of us?
What’s next for you musically?
Two new singles are coming this summer: “Homeland” and “Restless.” We will be releasing a new EP in Fall 2023 featuring new music. Our live audiences have given us great feedback on these upcoming singles, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
How can we pray for you?
Please pray that the Holy Spirit and God’s desire will inspire these songs as we continue to write new Christian music this summer. Please pray that the souls listening to our music may be blessed by God and experience His peace, love, and joy.
