The Hyssongs Release New Single, ‘It’s Not Over Yet’

June 5, 2026 — “Maybe you have had a bad report from the doctor or family member,” says Richard Hyssong of Maine’s musical ministry, The Hyssongs. “Maybe you are struggling with finances, and think that it is the end. Let us encourage you to look to God, and know that it’s not over yet! He has the final say.”

This moving reassurance forms the basis of “It’s Not Over Yet,” the new Horizon Records single from The Hyssongs — and for the family, it’s not just a song from the pen of acclaimed songwriters Jason Cox, Kenna Turner West and Brian White, but a powerfully personal message of faith. “Seventeen years ago, Kelly and I had our first child, named Makayla,” Hyssong recounts. “She was born with 22 tumors in and on her heart, along with a massive number of brain tumors. The doctors told us that she would probably not survive, and if she did, she would not talk, walk, or be like other children. We were devastated. However, God had other plans. Those heart tumors disappeared, and she is about to graduate high school. In fact, she currently travels and sings with our family.”

Over a stately arrangement from award-winning producer Jeff Collins, Dell Hyssong takes the lead in delivering “It’s Not Over Yet”’s simple yet profound lyric, which invokes the parting of the Red Sea and the victory at Jericho before offering a clear and unmistakable lesson:

Are you staring down a giant, that just won’t seem to fall
Are you facing the impossible, your back’s against a wall
As long as you’ve got life and you’ve got breath
It’s not over yet

Keep trusting, believing
His promise, He’ll keep it
Even when it feels like the end
Don’t let your heart forget
It’s not over yet

“In December of 2025,” Richard adds, “after being so healthy, the doctors discovered two tumors on one kidney, and one on the other. We are not going to give up. We are not going to go home and quit…. We know that ‘It’s Not Over Yet’! The same God that healed her before, can do it again!”
